Alba Dog Bed | Striped
The story behind it
Why I designed it
I named this bed after my dog, Alba – because it was made with her in mind. Not just her size or her sleep habits, but her presence. I wanted a bed that felt like hers, but also looked like mine.
A calm, elegant piece I wouldn’t hide in a corner – but one I’d proudly place in the living room. The kind of bed that felt soft, secure, and always a little bit inviting. Just like her.
What it took to get it right
The striped fabric was love at first sight – subtle, classic, and full of texture. But it had to perform too. We chose materials that hold shape beautifully but feel plush to the touch. The raised edges were tested until they hit the sweet spot: firm enough to support, soft enough to sink into.
The handle in the center wasn’t just for aesthetics – it came from daily life. I kept moving Alba’s bed from room to room, and wanted something that made that effortless. Every detail came from experience.
Why customers love it
People tell me this is the first dog bed that feels like part of their home – not just their dog’s. The stripes, the silhouette, the softness – it checks every box.
Dogs love the cushioned support and calming edges. Humans love the removable covers and that it’s easy to take along for weekends away. And honestly? Some just love how it looks at the end of the sofa. And that’s okay too.

My story
Hi, I’m Noa – designer and founder of Staey. I live in Denmark with my dog Alba, and I started Staey because I was tired of choosing between functionality and aesthetics.
Every Staey design starts with real moments from my life with my own Alba. I sketch the first ideas at my kitchen table, and my team and I test, tweak and adjust until it works – for your dog and for you. Because practical can (and should) look beautiful.
