Washing Instructions:
Close all zippers and velcro straps. Wash on a gentle cycle at a maximum of 30 degrees with low spin. Use mild detergent and no fabric softener.

The story behind it
Why I designed it
It all started on a rainy, miserable walk with Alba. She was wearing a rain coat that looked fine on paper but just wasn't right for her – it rode up when she walked, let water in at the seams, and left her cold and soggy by the time we got home. I was tired of choosing between something that actually kept her dry and something I'd actually want to see her in.
That evening, I sat down and sketched out the first ideas for what would later become Taja – a rain coat that would keep dogs properly dry without sacrificing comfort or style, something I simply couldn't find anywhere else.
What it took to get it right
This one took time – and a lot of trial and error. One version soaked through after ten minutes. Another kept sliding off when it got wet. One design looked great on the hanger but bunched up wrong the second Alba started running. We tested different fabrics, adjusted the fit around the chest and back, and reworked the velcro placement more times than we can count – all in close collaboration with our production team to make sure it worked across every size, not just one.
The breakthrough came when we finally found a construction that stayed waterproof without adding bulk or weight. That's when Taja stopped feeling like "a rain coat" and started feeling like a Staey piece.

My story
Hi, I’m Noa – designer and founder of Staey. I live in Denmark with my dog Alba, and I started Staey because I was tired of choosing between functionality and aesthetics.
Every Staey design starts with real moments from my life with my own Alba. I sketch the first ideas at my kitchen table, and my team and I test, tweak and adjust until it works – for your dog and for you. Because practical can (and should) look beautiful.
